I say "Treat them as Shell Shocked Comrades and always, always, treat them with Respect for their Psyche's have Suffered in the Present Health System.  As a Society We must move forward toward Compassion instead of Hatred of those Disabled by Mental Illness.  My Life has been pure torture for which I would be happy if Someone Shot me from behind so that I could let go this Mortal Despair and have a Fresh Start.  But it is for my Child and my Child's Children that I make this Plea.  Bi-Polar is Genetic and if the Gene were ever to Surface again I Hope that We can Provide more Dignity and Comfort for Psychiatric Survivors.  Employ them and Keep Society Safe.  And of course if You don't Employ them You are breeding Time Bombs!

Bi-Polar is an Interesting Illness and Having the Illness means that you are 3x more Likely to Die Young.  I make friends of Dead People and Walk through Escher's Paintings for something to do to Decrease the Boredom.  Hell and Heaven have to be Upon this Precious Earth.  For the Rights of Victims Everywhere We must PLEASE Groom Prisoners for Work.  Not just leave them to Wreak Havoc in their Neighbourhood because they are "OUTCASTS".  I joined those Ranks when I Became Invalid through having Bi-Polar.  If a Murderer walks in and out of Prisons with Death Wishes on his Mind from Bitterness We have Failed as a Society to Protect Victims.  A Sentence Should be for Rehabilitation with a Mind to Employment at the Other End of the Sentence……Unemployment is Unfortunately a Devil's Work Shop for those Ill Inclined.  How many times have We heard of those Violent Criminals on Parole doing Sadistic  Acts such as Murder.  Everyone deserves Rehabilitation and Everyone Should have Work as a Citizen's Right PLEASE.  That is Ultimately….I Believe When We will have Achieved Heaven on Earth…….

After 34 Years of Contemplation of Suicide I have deduced that I wouldn't Succeed.  So now I have to Look Forward.  I PRAY for the Day when Our Young are Not farmed into Learned Helplessness and Inertia from Grief being left to Console Themselves in which ever way possible When their Failures, Not Their Strengths are Underlined.  Psychiatric Patients Need Work and Acceptance in the Community for them to Thrive.  This I see as the Future of Psychiatric Care.  Let Us Uplift Our Psychiatric Patients and See that They Shine rather than exist as Satellites to Communities self Chastising and Contemplating Suicide because Their failures are Underlined and even Exaggerated.  I'm a Crazy Specimen but having Lived with Mental Illness I Know exactly What These People Need……And it is a Chance.  PLEASE STOP Condemning People as Lazy Bludgers and Direct them into Suitable Work.

I woke up Refreshed from a Wonderful Sleep.  People don't like to talk about Suicide.  We have fight for Life and those are Marvelous Efforts but What Our Young People Need Most is Not to be Stigmatized.   We Spend an Enormous amount of treatment on People that Trip Up.  But What We Most Need is to Provide them with Sheltered Work Shop Where People can Heal and then move back into Participating in Society.   A Thousand Bespectacled Psychiatrists, if I live that Long,  Will Not have Helped me as the Opportunity of Work.  Society Needs to make Constructive Progress towards Achieving this.  Keeping the Status Quo leaves People in Dark Places………..We Need to Help All People.

Bill English Will No doubt have this Budget Delivered as the Daddy of All Budgets with All Our Children getting FREE HEALTH CARE until they are Thirteen.  I think that is Wonderful but for Young Adults and Teenagers We need as Close as Possible to Full Employment.  As Drugs are a Pastime for those places where there is Low Employment then that is Where We need to Open Work Houses/Health Clinics so that We can Groom them for a Life of Success rather than a Life of Failure.  Holistically if the main Reason People Seek Services is Depression associated with Unemployment then Perhaps, just Perhaps Our Compassion is Strong Enough that We can Stop the Gaps.  I Believe that this will Happen….if Not in my Lifetime I still Believe it Will Happen.  Love and Aroha to All

Sometimes I can Imagine the Terror of being Ann Frank but the Terror does not end for those that Have been stigmatized with Mental Illness.  It just Compounds.  Please, as a Society, may We All Vow to turn the Tide for the Sake of Our Young and Show more Constructive Effort toward Saving these Souls.  The Vulnerable need to Know They are Protected if they are Not to Commit Suicide….

I would like to Cut the Ribbons on the first Work House/Health Clinic for the Unemployed and those with Psychiatric Disability.  When these are Built I Know I Will Die in Peace.  Those that have come Before Us turn in Their Graves at the Plight of Their Young.  We cannot Go On Ignoring that too many of Our Young are Lost as Statistics.  We cannot Show Concern for the High Suicide Rate and Not lend a Hand.  So that Our Children are not Lost to the Shadows and the Fringes of Communities.  PLEASE.  This is What We Need.  

Today I had a Simply Brilliant Day @ Golf.
Got a 46 Round for Nine Holes and Three Par's in a Row.  I can only Imagine the Thrill of Winning Major Tournaments but it made me feel like 
Lydia Ko.  Golf has been the most Positive thing in My Life and Thank God My Son taught me How to Play.   

I have decided Not to Vote this Year.  I think that the National Party are running the Books Pretty Well Marvelously When it comes to Running the Books.  However I think We need more Compassion when it comes to Lower Wages and Benefits.  It should be possible that Every Worker fulfill the Dream of Owning their Own Home.   Present Rates are at a Level of Modern Slavery, in my Opinion.

When I Die I Hope I get a Chance to take a Spin up to the Cenotaph on Primrose Hill so that I can say Goodbye to the Soldiers…..Angels and Demons alike.  My favourite moment next to Giving Birth was Dancing in the Rain by Moonlight up at the Cenotaph.  I think it would be Wonderful if National and Labour could come to some Compromise and Work toward a Society Where Our Young are Not falling through the Cracks.  If I got a 75% Average in 6 Subjects, yet because of Mental Illness, I could not find a Place in Our Society it is not down to Lack of Intelligence that People Fail.  It is down to Stigma and Fear and Hostility surrounding People rendered Vulnerable by Mental Illness.

If We are to Fashion a Caring Society We need to See to it that Everyone Thrives and that entails Building those Work Houses/Care Centres for Our Teenagers and Children.  I have been Happy to Share the Bottom Perch with Beneficiaries and Thieves and Murderers because, at the End of the Day, What Any of Us Need is Love + Acceptance.  I want Future Generations of Children Coming through with Mental Illness to Flourish and Find a Chance of Success.  Not Disappointment, Isolation and Resentment for that does not Enhance their Character and leads Society into Dangerous Territory.  I am non violent But I can Empathize with those that are Frustrated by not being Accepted in Society.  We must be Seen to be making the Moves to Show that Every Child needs to be Accepted and find Placement.  Kia Kaha

The Prime Minister said a Simply Brilliant Phrase about the Benefits of Work.  I've had so many Drugs I can't Quote it.

I remember very nervously facing Fraser MacDonald and Him telling me that I would have a "Normal" Life.  With a bit of Good Luck….Here, here,  that sort of thing.  It is an Enormous Anomaly that Psychiatrists, by their Profession are considered Humane and Caring Human Beings.  They are for the Most Part Just that.  I have always and will Always Admire those that Reach out to the Mentally Ill.  But Unfortunately the Goal Posts are too Low and We expect the Mentally Ill to accept their Lot Stoically and never Complain While We Walk over their Spirits as if they were Door Mats.  Many drift in enormous Despair on the Out Skirts of Humanity under the Enormous Shadow that being Diagnosed with a Mental Illness Casts.  I am not imagining being Vilified.  It is a Truth.  

We need a Future in which every Child is Groomed and Encouraged that they Will find a Place in the World.  Even if they have a Mental Illness.  PLEASE don't Allow Our Children with Psychiatric Disabilities to live Lives where they never See the Light.  Please bring them Out of the Shadows and find Their Worth.  Please don't merely Focus on Their Failings because…sure as Eggs They will Live Up or Down to Expectation.

If Our Children are to have Hope they need to See that there will be Placement in the Community.  Apparently some Companies are using Autistic People, I Believe, to run Data Bases, because though they have Social Difficulties they are Actually VERY GOOD Workers.  That is Fascinating and the Model We need to Adopt in Countries around the World as well as Darling Aotearoa.  I am Shell Shocked from a Life of Surviving with a Mental Illness.  I Beg for Our Children and for a Brighter Future in Humanities Response to the Mentally Ill.  PLEASE.  We need to Patch the Cracks or Chasms that Our Kids are falling into.  Psychiatry needs to move towards Humanity and Non-Discrimination.  You cannot just Sit Upon Pedestals and merely Observe the Demise or therein not of the SPECIMEN.  You should Campaign for their Legal Rights and the Right of Every Citizen that They Should have Work Opportunity.  Medication is not the Answer…It is merely a Band Aid applied to Calm the Distress of the Patient.  My Distress stems from the fact that I SAW my Mother Already Destroyed.  We cannot Keep taking Pot Shots as the Mentally Ill, the Ex-Prisoners and the Drug Addicts.  If We are to Heal Our Society We need Work Shops in Every Community Provided by the Government so that Our Children can have a Shot at Dignity and be Loved.  Not Judged and Hated.  I turned to Marijuana Later in Life When I was Shattered because I realized I would not make it into the Work Force.  To Heal this Society We need to Give Everyone a Chance.

That is my Plea

The Psychiatric Nurses that cared for me were Delightful people and I thank them.

However, I remember discussing the fact that Work is what Psychiatric Patients need to earn a Living and feel part of the Community.  His response reflected the typical APATHY that surrounds the Care of the Mentally Ill.  He said that there are so many Unemployed he couldn't see how. ….or something along those lines.  That is my POINT.  To give these People a Decent Chance at Life We have to Design Work for Every Living Human Being that wants to Work.  Every Young Person needs to Know that they will not risk falling into the Abyss of Unemployment.  I still believe that failing going back to having Psychiatric Hospitals We need Drop in Centre's that offer the Opportunity of Paid Work.  Simple tasks for those that are unwell or under the Influence of Substances.  More complex for those that are Recovering.  The only Way that We can Protect the Mentally Ill is by Protecting Everyone so let's Do It.  PLEASE.  

I can tell You that Living with Mental Illness is a Living Hell.  Stigma Tortures the Soul.  If We are to reduce the Hostility, the Hatred and the Fear that engenders Bullying towards those that are more Vulnerable We need to Stop Gap that Chasm that people are falling into. PLEASE

Since before I was Diagnosed with a Mental Illness I chose Suicide as the only Option for My reply to Knowing that I was Mentally Ill.  I have gone on Choosing it as the Only Option and I have not Succeeded.  But may I Speak as an Advocate for those that Do and Have Committed Suicide. Many Live with terror of being Diagnosed with Mental Illness.  Our Teenagers a growing up with the TERROR of not being accepted into Society.  The World is Harsh and Judgmental.  From being a Very Clever Student with a Wealth of Potential and proving it when I went Psychiatric Nursing I was told Cynically to become an Artist.  Indirectly I already knew then that My Life would be under Siege from being Vilified for being Mentally Ill.  If We were to lead the World in the Care for Each and Every One of Our Citizens We would Promise that We would find Vocation for Each and Every Child.  Take away the TERROR + PROMISE them Something.  Please don't Shun the Mentally Ill.  Please Help them.  I know that I truly Believe in God and that Belief is what stops me breaking the 1st Commandment…….Thou Shalt Not Murder.  But my Suppressed Anger has lead me to this Point and I Speak Out now for those in the Future.  God Himself I Know would want Us to Share this World Without Prejudice + With Commonality + To be at Peace With One Another.  We cannot do this if We are effectively Assigning a Portion of Our Communities to the Scrap Heap of Humanity.  As an Adult Woman, perhaps from Brain Injury, + Bi-Polar many Harsh Judgments have come My Way.  I was condemned by the very Psychiatrists that Supposedly Cared for me way back in the Piece.  It seems they Chose to take no notice of the fact that I had been Sexually Abused and had had a Murder Attempt on My Life.  In Dr Cliffs calculated Opinion…" It is not a Wonder…………tried to Murder You because Your Behaviour was so Inappropriate".  My G. P. defended Dr Cliff and so it goes on and on and on until now I'm ANGRY and Speaking Out.  We must Shortly move from allowing Our Children to be lost to Insanity and give every Child a Fighting Chance at Dignity.  That is Why I Implore All Governments that We should turn away from the Old Punitive Welfare System and Promise Our Children a Living Wage so that they Know that they are ALL Protected.  If We can Choose the I.H.C. as Our Role Models and Branch Out from that I would like to see Psychiatric Hospitals working toward the Education and Work Based Employment before Medication.  After 34 Years of Medication I can only Vouch for the Dangers of putting Medication first When it comes to treating Individuals.  The one thing I noted was that When I had Work or Occupation I was always there and generally maintained a Cheerful Disposition.  That is the Key for Our Children and Our Children's Children.
